WOMEN OF THE EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH (W/ELCA)
Long Lake women meet the first Wednesday of every month for coffee, business meeting, program and fellowship. Several fundraising events are held each year to support WELCA's projects. These projects include Lutheran World Relief and community and area needs. The programs are always interesting, the food is always good and the projects are always worthwhile. All women members and friends are welcome to attend these meetings.
WOMEN'S BIBLE STUDY
This group meets on the second Wednesday of the month at 10:00 with Pastor Mary.
BREAKFAST, BIBLE STUDY AND CONVERSATION
All men are invited to join this group on Thursday mornings at 8:30 at the Birchwood Café, unless otherwise noted in the Events calendar. Come for breakfast, good discussion and camaraderie.
The Long Lake Lutheran Book Club meets monthly at the church to discuss books chosen by members of the group. All are welcome! Here are our upcoming books and meetings:
Thursday, January 17th, 4:30 -- What the Eyes Don't See, by Mona Hanna Attisha
Thursday, February 21st, 4:30 -- The Finnish Way, by Katja Pantzar
Thursday, March 28th, 4:30 -- If You Lived Here, I'd Know Your Name, by Heather Lende
This group meets most Wednesdays of the month (except for the first Wednesday which is W/ELCA luncheon and program), from September to April. Generally our quilts are sent to Lutheran World Relief and then shipped on to third world countries. Some are given to meet local needs in areas where natural disasters have occurred. At certain times, quilting classes are offered. Experienced and new quilters are always welcome. Quilting materials are also appreciated.
